Quality

Quality and traceability

From supplier to delivery: how we secure quality and organic status.

Organic raw materials from third countries need complete evidence. Every lot is sampled, analysed and documented before shipment and delivered with a certificate of analysis (COA).

Our process

  1. Supplier verification

We work mostly with partners we have known for many years. For new suppliers we carefully check the organic certificates and their validity, visit the loading places and warehouses, and audit them.

  2. Sampling at loading

Samples are drawn by independent surveyors or at the loading place, as a mixed sample across the whole loading.

  3. Export analysis

An export analysis is made for every lot, mainly at Bilacon laboratory. The results are stated in the certificate of analysis (COA) that accompanies every delivery.

  4. Lot number back to the field

We carry the producer's lot number through all documents, from the certificate of analysis to the shipping documents. Every lot can therefore be traced back to the field without gaps.

  5. Retained samples

We retain the loading sample of every lot for 6 months, so questions can still be resolved after delivery.

  6. Import and organic release

Third-country imports into the EU are handled via TRACES with a certificate of inspection; for customers in Germany and Switzerland we carry out the import including the organic release. We are in close contact with the control bodies.
